Netball New Zealand Courses
Netball NZ Coach Development Pathway and Framework - Netball NZ's new framework for coach development.
The new system for coach development is to firstly attend a Starting Out in Coaching Workshop. These are organised by your local netball centre. On attending this course you will receive a Coaches Toolkit which content includes;
- Athlete development
- Netball Specific - technical, tactical, rules, performance enhancement
- Leadership and planning
- Coaching Process
The next step is to attend the coaching modules.
Only two of the modules are compulsory - "Understanding the Player" (also available online from NNZ's site) and "Player Centred Coaching". Coaches must complete the module 'Understanding the Player" (unless you have attended the NNZ Level 2 or 3 workshops within the last three years) before attending the first session on Player Centred Coaching (which is recommended for Level 2 and 3 coaches to attend).
Modules explained more on the attached - Module Explanation
Netball NZ no longer run the Level 2 and Level 3 coaching awards. We encourage you to complete these awards if you have already started, so please contact the office to organise completing either the Level 2 assignment or practical, or if you need help with the Level 3 assignments.
NOTE: The deadline to complete all Level 2s and Level 3s is 2009. For more information see Netball NZ
